Visual storytelling for organizational culture.
Build a team with capacity for trust, understanding, and collaboration across differences.
Too many team-building efforts don't work.
Remote work, restructuring, and department silos leave teams fragmented. Too many team-building activities are stale and ineffective. Icebreakers and ropes courses feel forced and don't stick. And neither do the canned presentations of speakers on the team-building circuit — maybe you don't even remember their name, much less what they said.
Leaders know their team could be more connected. They just don't know how to get there without it feeling gimmicky.
Take a visual approach instead.
People do their best work when they feel truly known and valued by their colleagues. Most organizations already have the talent, experience, and goodwill they need — what's missing is a way to develop it into trust, understanding, and a shared sense of purpose.
Reframe & Develop uses photovoice, a research-grounded visual storytelling method drawing on public health, visual sociology, and conflict resolution. Team members respond to prompts with their own photos, then share the stories behind their pictures in small-group discussions.
Participants use their photos and stories to create a shared visual narrative that takes the form of a collaborative gallery. The process brings perspectives to light that don't usually make it into a meeting.
When teams need this most.
Team off-sites and retreats. Give your gathering real substance, a structured way for people to deeply connect.
Change and restructuring. New leadership or a shift in direction can fracture trust even when the people on the team haven't changed. Rebuild it deliberately through visual storytelling.
Breaking down silos. Departments that rarely interact need more than a shared Slack channel to actually understand one another and work together effectively.
New or blended teams. Recently merged, newly hired, or brought together after a reorg — help people build real familiarity with intention at the speed of trust.
Ahead of high-stakes collaboration. Before strategic planning, budgeting, or any initiative that asks a cross-functional or global team to decide something together, give people a chance to see who's actually in the room — not just what they represent.
Your next steps toward a stronger team.
DISCOVER
Schedule a discovery session. Success depends on a clear understanding of your team and its deepest needs. Likewise, you need to learn about the Reframe & Develop process to see if it is a good fit.
DESIGN
Co-design an experience for your team. This process is participatory, which means that we'll work together to design a workshop, team day, or retreat around what your team actually needs, not an off-the-shelf program.
DO
Reframe and develop your team. Using their smartphones, your team will respond to prompts designed to build trust, understanding, and collaboration. Individual stories form a mosaic — tangible insights and connections for a stronger team.
Formats to fit your team.
Every format is co-designed around your team's specific goals and offered in-person and online, including scaled options for distributed teams.
Workshops
A focused, two- to four-hour experience for a single team or leadership group. Everyone moves through a complete arc in one session: small-group dialogue, large-group sharing, and a collaborative gallery.
Retreats
Several sessions woven across two or three days, for teams gathering at a retreat. As insights and relationships deepen, a shared visual narrative comes into view.
Initiatives
A series of one- to two-hour sessions over several weeks or months for a team working through a longer arc of change such as a recent merger, restructuring, or season of rapid growth. Across sessions, a sustained conversation builds: who the team is, where it's headed, what's getting in the way, and how to move forward. Each stage preserves progress through images the team can recall at a glance long after the conversation itself.
Every format includes facilitation, all materials, and a shared gallery your team builds together. What happens to that gallery next — kept internal, shared more widely, or something else entirely — is up to you.
What participants are saying.
"I really enjoyed getting to know my colleagues on a more personal level. We see each other in a professional setting every day, but this workshop was a reminder that everyone has such full and meaningful lives outside of work, with unique interests and connections. It gave me a deeper appreciation for the people I work with."
— Sam W.
"We get so many glimpses into our coworkers' lives outside of work through passing conversations, but this workshop gave us the chance to actually see."
— Nicole E.
I was grouped with colleagues I've worked with for years as well as those I was just meeting that day. The experience [the workshop] curated for us allowed me to learn so much about all of the members in my group at a level I'd never be able to achieve through day-to-day interactions in the workplace.
— Christina B.
"Our teams walked away with strategies, approaches, and transformed perspectives—all while increasing the speed of trust across our teams."
— Adam H.
